Reporting directly to the Manager of Contracting, the Contract Specialist is responsible for contract and document preparation, contract administration, and pricing file administration. The Contract Specialist will be tracking and completing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements related to the various contracts.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced knowledge of federal contracting, specifically the FAR and the solicitation processes of the Veteran’s Administration and the Department of Defense. The candidate will also have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills. The candidate must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Roles and Responsibilities
Maintain contracting files
Administer pricing files
Track and fulfill government reporting responsibilities
Provide support in all aspects of pre-award and post-award functions
Prepare contractual documents such as contracts, solicitations, and modifications
Coordinate participation and activities of other key stakeholders in the process of completing contracting actions
Fulfill a myriad of system and contract updates in conjunction with onboarding and out-processing vendor partners
Must have extensive knowledge of government acquisition regulations (such as the FAR) in the administration of contracts.
Must have strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in MS Word and MS Excel
Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Must have the ability to read and interpret contracts, solicitations, and acquisition policy, regulations and directives

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree or work equivalent work experience, ideally in business administration, contracts, law or purchasing
At least 2 years of government contracting experience in the private sector
Experience in cost or price analysis and preparation of related documents in accordance with directives and policies
