Title: Senior Vice President, Strategy FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: President & Chief Executive Officer
Objective This position is responsible for creating and executing strategies and tactics that are in alignment with the Vision 2026 plan and overseeing the program work and budget for all the activities within Government Relations and Marketing & Communications department. . Responsibilities • Supervise Sr. Director, Government Relations & Sr. Director, Marketing & Communications to develop and manage all programs, activities and events within Government Relations and Marketing/Communications that are consistent with the organization’s mission and Vision 2026, the 10-year vision plan of the Chamber; • Ensure that positions and appropriate decisions are strategized and are accurately and effectively communicated with the long-term impact in consideration; • Oversee the development of the annual local, state and federal legislative agendas; • Oversee and maintain relationships with elected official’s staff and elected officials to promote a continual dialogue with the Chamber and local regulatory agencies on policy matters impacting development; • Develop strategies to advance the Chamber’s position on policy issues with a long-term view in mind.; • Develop executable plan of action to continually position the Chamber for highest impact on all issues; • Monitor and research development-related issues in the local community and in other communities with ability to develop reporting and identify best practices for the Chamber • Oversee and manage the activities of the Chamber’s committees as assigned (Military, Transportation, Policy, Military, Communications, Innovation); • Oversee and supervise the Chamber’s contractual lobbyist services; • Recruit, train and supervise all staff within areas of responsibility and ensure they are working to successfully implement the Chamber’s annual program of work and budget with a focus on executing the operations plan of the 10-year vision plan; • Develop and implement a pro-active media strategy resulting in strategic coverage of Chamber initiatives with measurable results that effectively positions initiatives for long-term impact; and • Be responsible for any additional assignments and/or special projects given by the President/CEO.
Relationships/Accountabilities • Accountable to President & CEO to develop and execute all program deliverables • Responsible to meet and manage expectations of members, volunteers and staff • Responsible for adherence to all Chamber policies and procedures • Works cooperatively and positively with all Chamber staff members and volunteers to promote an environment of excellence, teamwork, dignity and respect. • Exhibits a total commitment to maintaining high quality service standards of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce; demonstrates service excellence skills in dealing proactively with members, visitors, colleagues and all Chamber contacts.
