Under the general guidance of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs the Director of Institutional Research and Compliance will provide the University's leadership with information required for achieving strategic goals, institutional planning, policy formulation, accreditation, and compliance to support institutional decision making and a campus-wide information culture.
The Director for Research and Compliance will design and manage systems to gather, analyze, and interpret data in an increasingly broad spectrum of information and analysis (involving students, budgets, human resources, and instruction) which is used for reporting, financial analysis, strategic planning, enrollment and retention management and institutional change and development.
The Director for Research and Compliance will serve on campus-wide committees and task groups, insure completion of federal, state and other third party surveys and reports, and will develop student-tracking systems contributing to strategic planning, evaluation, and the overall success of the University and the division of Academic Affairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Initiate, prioritize, and manage institutional, state, and federally mandated research and reporting in support of the University's strategic goals, institutional planning, accreditation, enrollment, retention, and data-driven decision making.
Provide leadership in the development and design of the institutional data warehouse for reporting educational statistics to internal constituencies and external agencies and organizations (DOE, IPEDS, NECHE, NCAA, College Board, U.S. News & World Report, etc.) and oversee access functions related to the information and data.
Coordinate and manage the submission of all IPEDS reports and NECHE data forms.
Serve as the University's Compliance Coordinator maintaining and distributing confidential information as needed to ensure institutional compliance for accreditation as well as local, state, and federal reporting.
Assist the President's Cabinet on environmental scans of demographic, economic, financial and policy factors impacting higher education.
Develop and maintain planning and projection models for enrollment, retention and grant expenditures.
Oversee administration of various survey instruments (National Survey of Student Engagement NSSE) and other campus-wide surveys.
Conduct a bi-annual analysis of competitor institutions.
Assist the Provost by developing and maintaining databases to manage and track faculty information such as terminal degrees, faculty workloads, and tenure status.
Assist with data gathering and developing presentations regarding the University's local economic impact, tax-exempt status and community relations.
Experience with NECHE accreditation preferred.
Outstanding analysis, forecasting and planning skills.
Expertise with applied relevant statistical methods and software (e.g. Colleague) as well as survey analyses.
Knowledge and respect for faculty governance principles.
