The City of Gainesville is seeking an innovative and forward thinking Finance Director with ERP implementation and public sector financial auditing knowledge to work for a trend-setting city. The Finance Director also supervises all activities of the Budget and Finance Department, including preparing analysis and projections; maintaining integrity of the integrated financial information system; making long and short range plans; and administering the City's Retirement plans, including monitoring investment advisors and custodian bankers.
To be considered for this position you must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, public finance, or related field. The ideal candidate will possess eight (8) years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience in accounting and financial management for a governmental agency or other large entity; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Additional Salary Information: Preference will be given to those who hold a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Finance certification. Salary for this position will be determined based on qualifications and the desired attributes sought by the city.
