Ensure product regulatory compliance by nalyzing business methods and ensure that operations are in compliance with all local, state and federal laws, as well as the laws that govern business practices. The Compliance Manager will be responsible for reviewing responses to official customer inquiries and correspondence with government agencies to ensure that they are complete and proper.
Duties and Responsibilities
Create and review regulatory compliance documentation; maintain an up-to-date knowledge of any and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with management to make aware of and take action on compliance requirements and issues.
Establish and maintain self-audit and compliance monitoring programs.
Develop internal controls and policies designed to ensure compliance needs are met; conduct periodic audits against those controls and metrics
Develop and conduct tests to evaluate product safety and recommends changes to reduce or eliminate hazards that violate regulations or company policy.
Work closely with corporate Global Assurance and Advisory team on all compliance matters such as supplier social compliance, EPA, DOT, OSHA, UL, and DNR.
Work closely with department and functional leaders to develop, review, and maintain applicable policies, Standard Operating Procedures, training materials, and other communications necessary to meet compliance requirements.
Interpret and apply all audit and compliance requirements back into the business with applicable policy and procedural changes to ensure compliance.
Interface with external auditors on matters related to applicable organizational internal controls.
May coordinate the rollout and training of new or updated policies and directives as appropriate.
File applicable regulatory reports, documents, submissions and registrations.
Participate in quality improvement project teams as needed to ensure that organizations objectives are met.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field of study.
Five (5) years of progressive experience in quality control, compliance, or similar.
Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of standards of practice as it relates to managing and monitoring regulatory and legal compliance.
Knowledge of the consumer products manufacturing industry and Consumer Product Safety regulations.
Strong proficiency using a Personal Computer (PC) to include Microsoft Office.
Proficiency at project management and associated tools including statistic-based software solutions.
Strong technical writing skills.
Analytical skills and the ability to interpret broad compliance requirements or guidelines into practical application.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively develop and maintain positive working relationships with persons at all levels of the company.
Presentation skills and the ability to effectively articulate an idea or set of ideas to a group of peers.
Time management skills and the ability to work with moderate to little supervision.
Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct moderately complex statistical analysis.

Normal office environment with limited domestic and international travel required.
