This position will work closely with the regional security manager, to foster a proactive and productive approach that addresses security matters in region. This position will assist in development, implementation, and management of the strategic and tactical planning for the region’s security services and support. Area of responsibility covers a large geographical area of accountability in terms of assets, facilities, and the number and size of sites.
Address all aspects of security for the organization’s regional businesses, including physical security, traveler security, investigations, information security, security education and training, contingency planning, crisis management, and executive protection.
Supervise teams of Corning and/or contingent security officers with oversight of performance, payroll / invoicing, training, team building and other plant responsibilities at several west coast facilities.
Maintain a working relationship with the contract security provider and leadership on hiring needs, performance and expectations of security officer requirements.
Assist with and participate in the development and implementation of a regional security plan that assesses current threats and vulnerabilities. Identifies protection goals, objectives, and metrics.
Provide oversight to all project security employees in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security procedures/processes across the region to reduce risk, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in order to protect our employees and reduce financial loss to the company.
Accountable for responding in a timely manner to a wide-range of challenges and situations.
Works with regional agencies to maintain important and close relationships with high-level law enforcement, intelligence, and private sector counterparts to include various regional country security agencies. Be the primary liaison between facility and government law enforcement entities.
Briefs Security Manager and regional / business unit leaders on the status of security issues.
Other tasks as may be assigned during duty in areas of responsibility.
Up to 50% routine regional travel to Corning facilities
Work Hours: Standard business hours (M-F), with flexibility to support a 24/7 operation when needed
Bachelor’s degree preferred or an AS degree with related field experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of corporate security, federal/state law enforcement or military experience is required.
Experience in a corporate security function is a plus.
Must have knowledge of law enforcement and criminal investigation techniques.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the corporation.
Ability to manage and deliver on multiple priorities.
Must be fluent in English
Must be a skilled interviewer, detail oriented, and be a good communicator in person and in writing.
Good technical skills and the ability to use a computer as a tool (Microsoft Office Tools) are required.
