You will execute a full range of direct pediatric speech/language procedures and treatment services.
You will employ pediatric specialty techniques to manage clients with a combination of mild to severe speech impairment, developmental, learning, and behavioral impairments from birth through 3 years of age.
You will serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team to evaluate referred clients for treatment planning and to determine current levels of function.
You will establish short and long term achievement goals, outcomes, which are family and child specific.
You will analyze child's developmental skills, preverbal skills, infant-caregiver interaction, play behavior, pragmatics, gestural, vocal, verbal, social affective and symbolic communication in conjunction with family, school, and other EDIS members.
You will conduct evaluation of oral facial musculature.
You will help to coordinate and participate in community outreach programs.

The Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist position is a key member of the transdisciplinary Early Intervention Services (EIS) team at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Yokosuka, Japan. You will provide early intervention services to eligible infants and toddlers (birth to 36 months) and their families/primary providers. As a critical member of the early intervention team, roles that you may assume include: prevention; screening, evaluation and assessment; planning, implementing and monitoring intervention, consultation with and education for, team members, including families and professionals; service coordination; transition planning and advocacy.

A graduate or higher level graduate degree that included 18 semester hours in the field of speech pathology with approved clinical practice that was approved, recognized, or accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) at the time the degree was obtained.
A full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing speech and language diagnostic, evaluation and treatment services to developmentally delayed and disabled children who have been identified as needing early intervention services.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS: This position has selective placement factors that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates.
