The Role: Credit Product Specialist Location: Charlottesville, VA or NYC, NY

The Role and Responsibilities: As a Credit Product Specialist on the Americas Credit Product Specialist Team you will be responsible for representing a range of credit products and solutions offered by Market Intelligence's Risk Services area. These products (e.g., RatingsDirect, RatingsXpress, Credit Analytics, Scorecards and more) are a core component of people in a variety of roles across Investment Managers, Investment Banks, Commercial Banks, Insurance Companies and Corporations. You will represent solutions covering the use of credit ratings, research, financial statement data and other firm Intellectual Property, to quantitative credit and scoring models that assess credit risk and probabilities of default. Role will require you to serve in a 'generalist' capacity, ultimately developing and exhibiting expertise across a broad range of products across the Risk Services suite. Additionally, possessing a macro-view with familiarity across broader Market Intelligence commercial offerings (CIQ and MI Desktop, LCD, etc.) connecting the dots within the firm will be beneficial. As a junior member of the team, you will be expected to work both independently and alongside the broader Credit Specialists team on a variety of projects and initiatives. Examples may include: researching companies/individuals for upcoming meetings or calls, preparing post-meeting follow up items and deliverables, preparing summary slides/Business Intelligence presentations to communicate team activity and impact, participating in lead qualification and early-stage diagnostic conversations or working proactively with Relationship Managers in renewal/retention campaigns and initiatives.
The Career Opportunity: As a member of the Americas Credit Product Specialist team, you will have exposure the entire Americas Salesforce (new Sales and Relationship Managers) across all segments. This is an excellent progression following a role in Client Support; you will further leverage your experiences from Client Support, while adding a core focus on fixed income, credit risk, credit ratings/data and the capital markets. Senior members of the team are incentivized to invest time into advancing your skill set, which will lead to greater independence, autonomy and contributions to the firm overall.
Bachelor's Degree in business, corporate finance, commerce or related subjects
Successful completion of Client Support program; plus recommendations from management of the Commercial Development and Client Support teams
Basic understanding of fixed income / credit markets gained via Client Support role, Education team trainings and seminars, or other prior employment / independent study; plus a desire to advance this 'basic understanding' to a more advanced level
A willingness to learn, approach challenges creatively, ask questions and conduct independent research and potential answer or solution to a problem or question
Constructive team player, capable of balancing and prioritizing multiple projects across different teams or business segments
Strong communication, organization and presentation skills
Confidence in meetings, presentations and interacting with peers and other members of the Commercial organization
Independent, self-starter capable of working without close supervision or daily guidance
Proficiency in MS Office and Salesforce
Some limited travel (domestic) may be necessary
