Anderson University (South Carolina) invites applications for a full-time faculty instructor with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the area of Cybersecurity. The position is full-time, nine-month, and the start date is projected for mid-August, 2020 (running through mid-May). Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts institution affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
This newly created position is the result of the development of a new Cybersecurity curriculum as part of Anderson’s commitment to relevant and innovative academic programming. Anderson University’s cybersecurity curriculum will consist of a balance of technical and non-technical cybersecurity courses and include areas of study such as network security; cloud security; programming & scripting (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell), threat intelligence; cryptography; security program management; governance, risk & compliance (GRC); contingency & response planning; ethical hacking/pen testing and digital forensics.
Maintain a teaching load of 24 credit hours per academic year. Cybersecurity courses may be taught online, on the main campus, or at the University Center of Greenville.
Provide academic advising and professional mentorship to students.
Engage in industry partnerships and outreach to local community.
Support student activities related to cybersecurity (including clubs and competitions).
Fully support the institutional goal of earning a NSA/DHS CAE cybersecurity designation.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
An earned Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution is preferred. Professional achievement specifically in the area of cybersecurity or information technology is desired. Professional certifications such as Security+ or the CISSP are a plus.
