Nursing: Graduate Nursing Program Director at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor (non-tenurable) or Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (tenure-eligible or tenured) to build the programs and manage the accreditation process; once programs are established: oversee day-to-day operations of the graduate programs; supervise the Assistant Directors for each graduate track (Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator, Nurse Leader); supervise faculty; provide teaching.
The position reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Nursing and is a nine-month faculty appointment with significant administrative duties during the academic year and the summer.
Providing strong, mission- focused leadership for the creation and establishment of the educational program in compliance with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and professional practice competencies.
Leading the development, approval, and implementation of program policies and procedures that align with institutional policies and procedures and ensure best educational practices and compliance with external regulatory agencies.
Supervising the development and maintenance of program curriculum, utilizing learning strategies that facilitate successful student outcomes.
Demonstrating leadership for the program, the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science and Miami University through committee assignments, faculty governance, inter-professional collaborations, and professional organizations.
Participating in sustainable fiscal management of the program by determining program needs, submitting budget requests, and managing resources effectively
Recruiting and supervising an outstanding faculty including principal faculty, instructors, part-time faculty as well as support staff and student employees.
Supervising an on-going assessment processes, utilizing data for evidence-based program expansion and improvement.
Leading the institution’s program accreditation efforts and maintaining program accreditation requirements.
Providing leadership for advising and academic progression of students.
Participating in curriculum development, program instruction, and clinical practice, as compatible with administrative role and faculty position.
Teaching in the department
Performing related activities as required/directed.
Maintaining an active research agenda (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor)
Doctor of Nursing Practice degree or Doctor of Philosophy in nursing or related discipline;
Registered Nurse licensure in Ohio or eligibility to obtain Ohio licensure;
at least three years of teaching experience in an accredited nursing program;
experience in program coordination/management.
For appointment at advanced rank, require credentials (high-quality teaching; scholarship and service) to support appointment at this level.
This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)
Strong candidates will have experience in the development and successful accreditation of a Family Nurse Practitioner Program.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build an exciting new program that will be part of Miami’s Boldly Creative expansion of health care education. The new graduate programs will be taught primarily online but will include a physical presence in the newly renovated University Hall (Miami Regionals) and new $90M Clinical Health Sciences Building (Oxford). There will be an opportunity to build and expand partnerships with our new PA program, the Mallory Wilson Center for Healthcare Education, our regional communities and strong graduate programs in cognate areas.
