We are currently seeking a Lead Contracts and Grants Administrator to join our team. The Lead Contracts and Grants Administrator serves a key role in our business operations by overseeing the pre-award activities of the ICT. This position is a primary interface between ICT project managers and principal investigators in the review and submission of complex proposals within parameters of sponsor guidelines.
This position collaborates with the Department of Contracts and Grants to ensure awards are set up properly. Ensures contract requirements are met, including the timely submission of program status and closeout reports. Prepares reports of proposal and award metrics for ICT leadership.
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). Interprets complex University and government policies. Identifies and implements process improvements. May negotiate and communicate with federal and state sponsors, industry sponsors, other institutions, and/or University schools or divisions in regards to application issues. Stays current with changes within legal, regulatory, competitive economic and technology environments which may affect specialized programs. Recruits, screens, hires, trains and directly supervises all assigned employees.
Preferred Experience and Areas of Expertise
Knowledge of extramural contract and grant requirements and regulations for sponsored research, and university policies and procedures governing the administration of federal and non-federal contracts and grants.
Demonstrated experience preparing and managing activities for a portfolio of government contracts, including requirements for federal awards such as 2 CFR 200, FAR and DFARS.
Effective supervision skills, including the leadership ability to establish and maintain positive and productive goal-oriented working relationships and to facilitate a quality team and service environment.
Demonstrated consulting, relationship building and strategic thinking skills.
Strong ability to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify multiple options for resolution.
Strong organization, negotiation, and decision-making skills with expertise in clarifying and resolving conflicts.
Ability to maintain a solution-oriented attitude while providing unsurpassed customer service.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to work well under pressure without sacrificing teamwork, accuracy, or customer service.
Thorough computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, database processing, email, calendaring, presentations and accomplished skill at navigating the Internet for information retrieval.
Control of standard English in written and spoken form. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing, electronically and by spoken word with a variety of people from faculty, sponsors and vendors.
Occasional evenings and weekend hours may be required to meet proposal submission deadlines
