This new position will be a senior position within the corporate Finance office with the key missions of 1) overseeing the implementation of defense contractor cost + contract accounting practices and 2) understanding and enhanced reporting from the current ERP system including inventory management, job/product costing, variance analysis and 3) understanding of and ensuring policy/procedure compliance with FAR/DFAR, CAS. Airdyne currently has an effective accounting staff in both the Canada and US offices.
Maintains and enforces a documented system of financial and accounting policies and procedures
Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary or related corporations, especially their internal control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
Determine an appropriate finance software upgrade and replacement plan.
Optimization of inventory
Reporting and Analysis
Issue timely and complete monthly financial statements
Recommend industry benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
Understand cost accounting principles and prepare cost allocations
Document rationale for contract bids
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Provide for a system of management cost reports
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Audit coordination and liaison.
Monitor adherence to internal controls
Maintained strong internal control structure
Documentation of policies, procedures
Comply with GAAP, FAR, DFAR, COS
Audit internal processes including procurement
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience that must include significant experience in optimizing accounting practices in response to cost reimbursable contract types.
Must be experienced with FAR, DFAR, COS and DCMA/DCAA audit standards in a smaller manufacturing business environment.
Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
Candidates for this position must have nothing in their background that precludes international travel and/or access to any U.S. military installation.
Computer literacy with Microsoft products, accounting software, and ERP software.
Ability to communicate internally and externally, at multiple levels.
