The University of Southern California's Institute for Creative Technologies (USC ICT) is where academia, entertainment, and the military meet. Located in the heart of Silicon Beach/Playa Vista, no other institute offers a more diverse collaborative environment where basic and applied research work hand-in-hand to transition cutting-edge technologies.
The Intelligent Human Perception Group at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) conducts research on nonverbal behavior understanding and multimodal machine learning. We work on emotion recognition, multimodal sentiment analysis and automatic behavior generation for virtual agents.
To support our Human-Machine Interaction research, we have developed a multi-modal human behavior tracking framework (MultiSense) which can track facial expressions, body posture, voice tone, linguistic patterns and higher-level behavior descriptors (e.g. attention) in real-time. Using these signal, we can infer indicators of psychological distress that directly inform the automatic behavior generation for the virtual agent, among others.
The Intelligent Human Perception Group is seeking a project assistant who will collaborate with scientists on analysis of human behavior for automatic recognition of mental health disorders and stress.
