Summary: The Product Manager - Mission will act as the champion of Military, Fire, and Law Enforcement products across the organization, from conception to launch. The Product Manager will be responsible for the on-going management of the product offering within the Mission business unit, focusing on driving product-line efficiency and best-in-class solutions for the most demanding users in the world. This position is based in Bozeman, MT.
Develop a seasonal range plan that delivers against the category objectives for sales, gross margin, SKU productivity, innovation, brand image, and customer value and functionality propositions.
Create and communicate clear and actionable design briefs for all new styles based on sales potential, market trends, government/user requirements, and category positioning parameters from the Director of Product, Director of Government Programs, and Mission Sales Managers.
Create and maintain a seasonal line plan with achievable FOB target costs, suggested retail prices and forecasted volume estimates (in-line with financial objectives).
Maintain an in-depth understanding of both domestic and international supply chain dynamics in order to inform overall business and timeline decisions, as well as construction and design considerations at the individual product level.
Perform in-depth market research and analyze internal sales data to present on-going and latent trends within the military, firefighting, & law enforcement product categories in order to inform future product strategy and road-mapping.
Work closely with Factory partners (domestic & international) regarding on-going business forecasting, product planning, and new product sourcing decisions.
Collaborate with the Operations team to balance product launch timing, costing opportunities, and technical details against on-going capacity planning and delivery considerations.
Manage Go-To-Market calendars by product line across the Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product Development departments in order to ensure that all necessary steps are taken for the timely and successful launch of new product offerings.
Present ranges at key sales launches and customer meetings, and work with Marketing staff on consumer-facing product specification collateral and on-product marketing collateral.
Work with the design and development teams to identify new material developments and innovations.
Coordinate the low-rate initial production and field testing of new products, as needed, to validate functionality, durability, and value for the intended use prior to bulk production.
Manage Designers and Product Developers within the Mission business unit in order to ensure all team members are working towards the common goal of executing to seasonal range plans and delivering on MYSTERY RANCH’s brand promise.

4-year college degree (or equivalent work experience)
Experience in technical pack, apparel, or sporting/tactical goods equipment development or product management
Required: Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a related position
Preferred: Specialty product development, sales, or marketing experience in the Outdoor or Tactical Industry
