Position Summary - Work with faculty and students to submit disclosures of inventions to the university. Create mandated government reports regarding federally funded inventions and subsequent patent filings. Create marketing plans for technologies; approach businesses seeking licensing on behalf of the university.
Responsible for the intake and database entry of Invention Disclosure related documents
Responsible for the intake and execution of Material Transfer Agreements for UMKC
Assist in marketing of inventions
Assist in market research, prior art search, and market analysis
Docket agreements and obtain institutional signatures
Identify Grant Funding Opportunities
Assist in License Negotiations
Maintain executed agreement files
Verify grant information and enter information in the i-edison database
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Office of Technology Commercialization
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Notary Public (willingness to become a Notary Public)
Licensing Professional Certification-AUTM (willingness to be certified)
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Hourly Range: $19.47 - $25.00
