Overview
Risk and Finance technology has embarked on an ambitious Risk Transformation program and as part of that we are looking for a Senior Application Engineer who will be part of the platform development team and be responsible for assisting with developing an enterprise platform that manages user business processes, supports reporting and analytics.

We are looking for an Software Engineer/Analyst with experience in design and implementation of enterprise systems, handling high volumes of data. The candidate would support design, implementation, production support and monitoring.  Technology toolkit involves RDBMS tools (SQLServer, Oracle), middleware services (Java/J2EE, spring, Kafka/JMS), User Interaction (Angular7/ReactJS), Analytical and Reporting services (Tableau/Cognos/Microstrategy/PowerBI). The candidate will work closely with the Corporate Risk Governance organization in building and supporting an enterprise platform. This is a unique opportunity to make a huge impact to Risk and Finance organization as various transformational projects are implemented.

Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes

• Acts in the highest level technical role as an individual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives.
• Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.
• Drives and participates in design and implementation of large software solutions.
• Works closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into working technical designs and that test plans and scripts meet customer needs.
• Works with developers and business partners to understand application defects, performance problems and data anomalies.
• Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs and testing.

• 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
• 7+ years of business systems analysis or design experience
• 7+ years of experience analyzing requirements and designing new solutions for application and database components
• 6+ years of experience with data analysis and documentation
• 6+ years of experience in application & data architecture and solution design
• 3+ years of SQL experience

• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
• 2+ years of compliance and regulatory systems experience
• Advanced problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities
• Experience designing, developing, and implemeting large scale, complex software applications
• Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: unit, regression, integration, and stress performance testing
• Knowledge and understanding of automated workflows design
• Ability to facilitate design sessions
• Ability to gather and document technical requirements
• Ability to identify, plan, and document system solutions that are cost effective and meet regulatory requirements
• Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
