Adjunct Position in Management Communication and Business and Society (part-time, non tenure-track)
New York University
Adjunct to teach critical thinking, writing, and business and society concepts to first-year undergraduate students NYU Stern has recognized programs in Management Communication that deliver core foundational courses in critical thinking, analytical writing, and business communication. Undergraduate MCOM courses are placed within a social impact core curriculum as part of the Business and Society Program (BSP), integrating concepts of business sustainability, corporate responsibility, and stakeholder management. We are currently looking to expand our pool of adjunct professors to teach our "Business and Society" course. This first-year, second-term undergraduate course, structured over 15 weeks, focuses on the interrelationships of business and society within two 75-minute classroom discussion- and exercise-based sessions and one course wide 60-minute plenary per week. Through weekly journals and analytical research papers, students examine and analyze how companies relate to societal issues, looking specifically at the interplay between market forces, society, and government. Teaching expectations include lecture- and conference-based writing instruction as well as detailed individual writing feedback.
