General Summary/Overview Statement Mass General Brigham is working to build the next generation of healthcare by investing in digital solutions, analytics, and big data. As part of this initiative, we formed the Digital Health Innovation (DHI) team, with the charter to support and encourage digital innovation across Mass General Brigham by partnering with innovative internal and external stakeholders to find solutions to healthcare's most pressing problems. The DHI team is composed of a talented group of analyst, project managers, and technical subject matter experts who work hand in hand with innovators at Mass General Brigham academic medical centers (Brigham Women's and Mass General), community hospitals, and start-ups to launch pilots of digital products, build core infrastructure to support innovation, and forge partnerships. The Project Specialist will be a key technical resource within the DHI team. This position will responsible for the technical assessments of potential DHI projects spanning integration, resource and effort scoping, timing and definition of deliverables necessary to implement innovative digital products. This position will focus on the coordination, collaboration, and execution of DHI projects, application integration of clinical complementary 3rd party applications, and extensions/innovation development with the Epic systems. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • As a member of the Digital Health eCare Extensions, Innovation & Integrated Technologies Group, the Project Specialist will be embedded in the Digital Health Innovation Team and will support innovation efforts by evaluating, scoping, designing, and implementing Innovation projects, products, and vendors that integrate with Mass General Brigham's Epic EMR. The Project Specialist will be a technical resource defining the technical feasibility of projects coming into the DHI pipeline and will work with vendors to identify their product's required integrations with Epic and design integration solutions. • Assist in coordinating the work of the Digital Health eCare Extensions, Innovation & Integrated Technologies team for enhancements, demand, application integration, and extension development for the Digital Health Innovation team. • Create functional requirements and specifications with the project team for enhancement, extensions, application integration and other development work with Epic and Mass General Brigham. • Perform analysis of design, Epic integration build, testing and deployment of product extensions development, enhancements, application integration development in collaboration with other Mass General Brigham teams and Epic staff. • Manage system upgrade tasks and work closely with other technical teammates as the IS liaison for Digital Health eCare to ensure integration connections are maintained. • Project manage software development projects and large-scale integration projects by leading technical teams and application team experts with Digital Health and EDDH tracking tools in accordance with team policies and processes. • Identify, analyze, resolve, and escalate issues to Digital Health eCare Extensions/Innovation Manager as needed. • Facilitate and ensure that project teams complete work assignments in accordance with an established project timeline. • Provide on-going project status reports to management, user groups, project steering committee and executive leadership. • Provide quality customer service and serve as an exemplary representative of Digital Health eCare. On-going communication, feedback and follow-through with customers and executive leadership is essential. • Troubleshoot and triage production development issues to reach resolution with various application and development team members. Workday and off-hour on-call responsibilities. • Mentor and educate teammates on new technical concepts and team best practice standards as it applies to project deliverables and team processes • Participate in weekly team on-call support rotation • Work closely with technical development and management on establishing new Epic Integration design standards to align with new evolving technologies and with an awareness to Epic development roadmap • Contribute to technical assessment design plans for both Operational and Innovation DHI projects. • Contribute to the setup of team tools to enable more effective communication between peers, consistent documentation of work between all development teams, and provide efficiency in daily operations. • Uses the Mass General Brigham HealthCare values to govern decisions, actions and behaviors. These values guide how we get our work done: Patients, Affordability, Accountability & Service Commitment, Decisiveness, Innovation & Thoughtful Risk; and how we treat each other: Diversity & Inclusion, Integrity & Respect, Learning, Continuous Improvement & Personal Growth, Teamwork & Collaboration. • All other duties as assigned Qualifications • Bachelors Degree in Business, Healthcare, or IT related required • 5 or more years of experience in operations management and project management, preferably within a healthcare environment • 2 or more years of experience with managing software development projects • Experience with the troubleshooting of software applications issues to improve operational workflows • Experience working with integrated vendor systems and maintaining vendor relationships. • Prior Epic Systems experience preferred • PMP or other PM certification preferred Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required • Strong project management and organizational skills • Strong commitment to customer service • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to multitask and prioritize work requirements • Ability to understand the program environment and competing priorities in conjunction with program goals. • Ability to provide direction as needed to team members, other staff and consultants. • Ability to work within a complex, multi-site environment • Ability to handle stressful situations in calm and professional manner • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse, cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization including both technical and non-technical personnel • Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others of different skill sets, backgrounds and levels within and external to the organization • Strong PC / Microsoft skills required (i.e. Microsoft O365 Suite,) Working Conditions • Standard office environment. • Frequent local travel to Mass General Brigham sites. • The work environment is very busy and dynamic. Staff is very collaborative and work together to solve issues.
