General Summary/Overview Statement Through significant investments in Enterprise Data and Digital Health capabilities, Mass General Brigham (MGB) is innovating and transforming the delivery of health care, research and discovery. The MGB Board and System-wide Executive Leadership Team have made a multi-year substantial investment to build out core digital and data capabilities to support the achievement of the MGB Mission to drive growth and innovation in inpatient, ambulatory, and digital care. We are just at the start of this journey and we are looking for talented individuals to join our team and help drive the realization of our strategy and ultimately be a part of transforming healthcare.
To achieve the expected outcomes from this strategy (improved patient care, quality of care, patient engagement, efficiency) data and analytic teams from across MGB are working together to build out the System-wide Data Ecosystem - leveraging current assets and building new integrated solutions to provide a holistic set of industry leading data and analytic capabilities for the entire system, supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and real-time operationalization of insights. This effort is bringing together innovative teams from Data and Analytics, Research Analytics, Clinical Data Science, and Information Systems to collaboratively build the data and analytic ecosystem. To ensure success of this effort, MGB is standing up a new Data and Analytics Operating Model with a goal of driving a level of standardization for data and analytic operations across the teams involved.
As the Sr Technical Analyst you are responsible for facilitating to bridge the gap between businesses and technical coworkers. Communicating technical information means translating business requirements into technical plans and translating technical terms into business requirements and actions. An analyst must assess the business and align the technical requirements to business projects and project goals as part of the DAO. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Act as point person, taking ownership of analysis, story development and value proposition for Data Lake use cases • Prepare and present analytics use cases and solution stories to stake holders • Analyze source data needed for data enablement and analytics solutions • Accountable for requirements, use cases, data discovery, source system analysis, source to target data mapping, data definition and quality rules, data transformation logic development and analytics dashboard as required by analytics use cases • Develop test cases and perform data enablement, functionality and quality testing on Data Lake • Develop agile epic and story boards working with Product Owner, and help document, clarify requirements to development team • Be a communicator of technical knowledge to the Project Team. • Do research on product features, use cases, interviewing people about business requirements and creating specifications for projects. • Analyze and organize the gathered information to understand and implement project requirements • Facilitate a consistent and organized flow of information during projects • Drive communication and clarity across the team and to stakeholders • Successful Traits Of Our Team ● Creativity, initiative, curiosity, and flexibility -- tempered by pragmatism, patience, and acute attention to detail ● Love of (bordering on obsession with) Agile methodologies and culture ● Strong leadership and analytical skills. Working Conditions • MGB has implemented special remote working policies due to COVID-19. Qualifications • Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred. • Minimum of 5 years in leading technology implementations with cross functional business and technology experts. • 3+ years experience working cross-functional data and analytics projects in the Scrum framework. • Good problem solving analytical skills Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required • Good Business acumen and communication, presentation skills • Need to be well versed with fundamentals of Data & Analytics, Data Warehouse concepts, data lake concepts etc. • Experience using azure data platform like ADLS, Azure SQL DB, Databricks etc. is a plus, but not mandatory • Must have system and data analysis experience in Data Analytics, Cloud, Big Data, areas • Strong SQL/Spark skills on multiple platform to query data from data lake and databases through Python/Scala/SQL. • Should be familiar with healthcare domain. Strong understanding of clinical data with familiarity of EPIC platform is required. • Healthcare experience, most notably in Clinical data and Payer data. Understanding of reference data is a plus but not mandatory • Desired EPIC background with understanding of EPIC modules like Chronicles, Cache, Clarity, Caboodle etc. and patient data flow within EPIC • Familiarity with data governance and data quality principles, good to have experience with data quality tools • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving and negotiation skills • Work with stakeholders including the Management team, Product owners, and Architecture teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. • Act as an effective, collaborative team member
