The Impact: As the Senior Product Manager, Product Operations, you will drive strategic and operational product initiatives to accelerate Platts' growth, performance and market position as a leading provider of energy and commodities information. As a leader of the growing Product Operations team, you will become the champion of 1) Customer data & insights 2) Product systems and 3) Processes and practices on the Product Management team. Within these 3 areas you will champion, you and your team will take on projects that support the product management organization by owning internally-focused product management roadmaps that help support internal systems and processes development. You will work with scrum teams and cross-functional stakeholders to fulfill the traditional product manager role of defining strategic development & vision, prioritization of features and go to market activity (for your internal audience) for projects that support development in these 3 functional areas. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who enjoys the traditional aspects of product management, but also enjoys diversifying into other operational areas of a product management organization such as defining best practices and repeatable processes.
Customer Data & Insights - You will be responsible for standardizing our customer feedback and data, ensuring it is consistent across product commodity verticals. You will partner with our customer experience and cross-functional teams to deeply understand feedback on our products and services, customer usage data and trends, firmographics and market sizing data, in order to arm our product teams with the necessary context to deliver solutions that meet and exceed our customer's expectations.
Systems - You will become an expert and the "Voice of Product" for various internal systems that the Product team relies on; Product portal, Salesforce, Zuora, fulfillment & entitlements, internal APIs, and delivery platforms. Your team will be responsible for managing and evolving these systems in order to support Platts products and pricing models. As the business continues to transition to a more simplified pricing & packaging structure and our digital product platform, you will bridge these initiatives with our internal systems in order to make the transition possible. Finally, you will represent Platts Product in defining requirements as our internal systems are upgraded and refactored across S&P Global.
Process and Practices - You will help define our product development processes and build consistent cross-functional practices and best-in-class frameworks that unify our entire organization. You and your team play a critical role liaising between our Product Managers and the broader operational teams to support the timely execution of product launches, modifications, and retirements. By thoroughly understanding the product impact downstream through our operations directly to our customers, you will set realistic delivery expectations and provide an optimal customer experience. In this capacity, your team will partner & integrate closely with Product Managers, Technology and Operations in order to bring an operational & customer support mindset to product development.
What We're Looking For: Basic Qualifications:
5 - 8 years experience of product and/or project management, ideally within a technology, data, or financial services company.
An experienced manager that can act as a player-coach and who has managed at least a 3 people team. Offshore management experience a plus.
Preferably background and expertise with business operations, systems and technology; CRM, or billing systems (e.g. Salesforce, Oracle, Zuora), APIs.
Significant experience working with product organization; you understand common product lingo, product development cycles, and can bridge knowledge gaps between technical and non-technical teams.
Agile development skills, experience as a Product Owner (PO) writing user stories, managing a backlog
Proven ability to build senior-level relationships, to lead cross-functional teams, and to influence decision-making
Proactive nature and are always seeking to move projects forward
Clear and succinct communicator, with an ability to break down complex or detailed topics so that anyone can understand them and can alter your messaging based on audience
Thrive in a matrixed and cross-functional environment and leading global teams
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; manage multiple priorities/projects at once
Ability to engage in the details and solve problems creatively
Bachelor's degree, quantitative or business discipline preferred
Proficient at Excel, Alteryx, BI Tools (Tableau or Power BI)
