Government Contracts Counsel Leading global aerospace and defense company providing innovative systems and products to government (federal, state, defense) and civil customers worldwide seeks to hire an accomplished government contracts lawyers with a minimum of seven years’ experience. This position results from an internal promotion. A unique feature of this position is the ability to serve as an operations counsel for several business groups within a division. While maintaining your government contracts core focus, you will gain experience akin to that of a generalist in-house counsel for a small company supporting a business division with all of its legal needs. You will provide advice to executives and other business partners on government and commercial contract matters, while coordinating with various legal subject matter experts internally to address any litigation, internal investigations, IP, export, ethics, anti-corruption, and employment law issues. Requirements: Experience with FAR and DFARS obtained in the following practice environments: law firm and in-house, law firm and federal government, or government only (ideally in one of the military service branches). Position requires seven years of prior experience in federal procurement matters, and prior commercial contracting expertise would be a plus. Ability to respond to a range of legal issues that arise from diverse business activities is required as is the ability to work collaboratively and build internal relationships. Workplace location: flexibility to work in Northern Virginia or Baltimore area office (telecommute for now).
