The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Design Assurance Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Drive continuous improvement mindset by using multitude of project management and analysis methodologies.
• Provide support in Design Engineering to teams working on projects to deliver our brand promise of innovation and strong reliability to our customers.
• Execute failure analysis, predictive failure/analysis, design FMEA (dFMEA), product reliability, design reviews, product field claims and investigations, and other duties as necessary.
• Implement and oversee change management as it relates to product design changes driven by product/quality improvement, supply changes, regulatory requirements, and cost reduction.
• Leverage and collaborate with cross functional teams including division manufacturing and quality organizations to drive solutions in product and process development.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years of combined SolidWorks, Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawing and simulation packages, plastic injection molding, and/or mechanical design experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution
• Mix of materials and mechanical background to support core business and manufacturing/ production integration
• Strong skills in statistical analysis
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross functional team members
• Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver technical results
• Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
