The Boeing Company is hiring a new Senior Counsel to be based in the Seattle, Washington or Plano, Texas areas. This hire will serve as lead counsel for the Boeing Global Services’ Commercial Parts and Commercial Programs businesses, providing advice and counsel on all legal issues within the portfolio, including business initiatives, deal structures, contract negotiations, and disputes, among other matters domestically and internationally, and will interface directly with executives, business leaders, senior engineers, and other company attorneys at all levels of The Boeing Company.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as lead counsel for a dynamic and fluid global portfolio, providing legal advice on all legal issues.
  • Partner with other subject matter experts within Boeing Law & Global Compliance to provide counsel on specialized matters to include environmental law, labor and employment, intellectual property, bankruptcy, corporate governance, antitrust, M&A, compliance, ethics, and other.
  • Serve on client leadership teams.
  • Manage and oversee outside counsel and budgets.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALIFIERS:

Competitive candidates for this position will have 7 to 10 or more years of broad-based experience in roles of increasing scope and responsibility with any combination of major law firm, corporate in-house, government agency and/or federal judicial law clerk. Significant transactional experience with a wide variety of commercial contracts, both customer and supplier, will be considered favorably.  

  • J.D. from a national accredited law school with excellent academic performance demonstrated.
  • Admission in good standing to the Bar of any state.
  • Experience in roles of increasing scope and responsibility with any combination of major law firm, corporate in-house, government agency and/or federal judicial law clerk.
  • Significant transactional experience with a wide variety of commercial contracts, both customer and supplier, will be considered favorably.
  • Licensed to practice and admission in good standing to the Bar of any state.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in an organizational setting, law firm, government agency and/or corporation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent business judgment and the ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization.
  • Global experience is a plus.
