Savannah River Nuclear Solutions manages and operates the Savannah River Site, a 310-square-mile facility owned by the U.S. Department of Energy near Aiken, S.C. We operate diverse nuclear and research facilities and manage infrastructure and support systems akin to those of a small city. We’re also home to the Savannah River National Laboratory.
This position will provide comprehensive support and direction in the planning, development and coordination of compensation related data management programs, systems, and processes for exempt and nonexempt employees. Senior level compensation experience with working knowledge of Access databases and statistical/regression application is highly preferred but not required for the position.
Responsibilities include:
Plan, develop and coordinate compensation management programs for exempt and nonexempt employees
Administer the day-to-day activities of the Company’s compensation programs and processes
Create analyses or improve existing analyses using advanced Excel and Access functions
Research and prepare standard and ad hoc reports and compiles metrics for analysis as needed
Take a leading role in designing and carrying out analyses for customer projects
Participate in Special Projects as the point of contact for Compensation program information
Responds to employee inquiries regarding compensation processes and assists in the resolution of compensation matters as appropriate
Conduct research and analysis in evaluation of job reclassification requests and new job description requests, including writing job specifications and descriptions, preparing market pricing recommendations, reviewing internal equity and recommending salary range and FLSA classification
Update existing job descriptions for market comparison databases
Participate in salary surveys and provide requested data as well upload completed surveys into analysis database
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Serve as liaison between the Compensation team and other departments across the Company organizations to ensure consistency and compliance in processes and procedures
Maintain confidentiality and exercises discretion when handling employee information
Advanced level of Excel and Access, including pivot tables, statistical analysis, V-Lookups, and formulas.
Prior experience managing exempt and non-exempt compensation planning.
Proficiency working with survey databases, such as Mercer and Towers Watson is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, but experience can be substituted in lieu of education.
