The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Lead Hazardous Materials Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Coordinate work assignments related to hazardous material processing with the supervisor to maintain an effective workflow
• Lead or participate in projects to support process improvements and be a change agent for the shipping process related to hazardous materials
• Lead in the due diligence process to follow up on issues related to hazardous material shipments, including inspecting and configuring packages for proper packaging and required documentation
• Facilitate/conduct Dangerous Goods Transportation / Hazardous Materials Processing training to new hires and recurrent training, as needed. Assist with refreshing training materials, as warranted
• Establishing, documenting and maintaining location procedures to ensure compliance with 3M procedures, policies, and systems

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Associates/Two Year Technical degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: warehouse operations, domestic/international shipping and receiving, mail room, hazardous materials/dangerous goods preparation in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Experience with preparing dangerous goods shipments in compliance with DOT requirements, DOT/IATA trained
• Previous experience in a 3M warehouse role or lead operator role
• Proven leadership qualities and the ability to work well in a team setting
• A commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and compliance with 3M STORM Manual/DOT requirements
• Experience using Excel to collect and analyze data sets
• Ability to work effectively on a computer and various 3M systems, including Excel, SAP, USS, IOMS, COMMS, Load Control
• Supplier management or work experience in a cross functional self-operational & supplier provided work environment
