The Integration System Designer’s primary responsibility is to provide design and engineering expertise for highly technical audio, video, lighting and rigging installation projects.  You will work directly with Solotech sales teams, project teams, and customers to develop and/or verify complete system designs for projects ranging from individual conference rooms to world-class performance venues.  You will be expected to perform drawing take-offs as well as generate and edit full shop drawings in AutoCAD, with support as needed.  You will also be expected to provide onsite programming, commissioning, tuning, and training when required.

Your day will look like this

• Perform technical drawings (block diagrams, single-line, architectural, etc.)
• Support project managers for sold solutions research and validation
• Assist sales representatives in the development of solutions for our customers
• Perform validation of equipment selection and system design before sending the bid
• Conduct research products and specialized equipment
• Establish the hardware and wiring lists
• Keep informed about new products and new technologies in the audiovisual field
• Design custom made items to be manufactured by Solotech or external suppliers
• Analyze cost estimates and the feasibility and relevance of the projects submitted by the representatives
• Act as a resource person for the internal and external customers
• Ensure the technical compliance of the projects delivery
• May be required to travel to the different sites
• Any other related duties as required by the department

Your profile

• 10+ years of industry experience. 3+ years of system integration/design experience
• Working knowledge of DSP, control systems, video, design standards and complex systems
• Proficient in AutoCAD and ability to fully engineer a project
• Proficient in general computer software (MS Office, Acrobat, Bluebeam, etc.)
• Proficient in interpreting and generating construction documentation including drawings, communications, etc.
• Discipline expertise in at least two of the listed categories (audio, video, lighting, rigging), including experience with multiple manufacturer’s and design methodologies
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and be acceptable to Company’s insurer
• Must be able to work on or near secure premises (schools, military bases, government facilities, etc.)
• CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D (an asset)
• OSHA 10/30 certificates (an asset)
• Relevant manufacturer certifications (an asset)
• Bachelor’s Degree or significant experience in this field (an asset)
