Applicants must have successfully completed a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time my degree was obtained. (Note - Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools).
Have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
Possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Are currently a federal employee assigned to a Nurse, 0610 SERIES position as of September 2017.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector by leading and managing others; applying occupational health nursing principles, theories, concepts, and clinical practice; providing nursing care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses based upon the nursing process inclusive of nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, and standardized medical protocols; recognizing hazard exposure and initiate treatment and conducting screening tests.
Board certification as an Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) by the American Board of Occupational Health Nurses (ABOHN) is desired but not required.
