The Business Services Coordinator maintains financial records for Residence Life, Facility Operations, IT Services and Housing Residence Life (HRL) main operations department areas and budget related items. The position also will be responsible for the following: Reconciles budgets and aids units as necessary Evaluates current and previous financial data Analyzes financial data and provides forecasting support for all budgets including the P3 housing project Coordinates budget related business needs of the department including oversight of requisitions, purchase orders, internal/external invoices, check requests, journal entries, and PACS card reconciliation Reconciles travel and student/temp payroll as needed Generates and oversees various reconciliation processes for the department Implements and maintains internal business processes, forms and documents Serves as a key stakeholder for review and development of policies and procedures related to five main budgets for the department Serves as a budget liaison between Business Services, Facilities, IT and Residence Life Utilizes business systems, as necessary (Banner, RMS, TouchNet, uShop, Chrome River) Monitors/reconciles account feeds to Student Accounts’ financial system from department software
Must be able to understand departmental policies and procedures well enough to articulate these processes clearly and accurately in e-mail messages, memorandums, and letters.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Possess analytical skills to process large amounts of information and manipulate into easily comprehendible dashboards and datasheets
Experience with university policies and procedures
Experience with software management systems in finance (i.e., Banner, uShop, Chrome River, etc.)
Knowledge of budget development and maintenance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Acute attention to details, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work
Proficient skill with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, etc.
Ability to perform analysis of financial data and processes
Ability to work with internal and external customers to resolve discrepancies or answer questions
Knowledge of financial analysis and general accounting procedures
Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and meet deadlines with accurate data and information
