This position reports directly to the Director of Inclusion and Workforce Development. A primary focus of this position is to ensure the successful transition of our adult development programs into a Center for Early Career and Advancement designed to support career advancement of staff and increase access to careers at Dana-Farber for underrepresented community residents. This role will manage day-to-day operations of all related programs and services.

This position is located in Boston, MA, and the selected candidate must be available to work at least partially onsite every week.
Manage the development and operations of the Early Career and Advancement Center. This center supports the professional growth of early career and underrepresented staff through programs and services that include but are not limited to:
Enhanced internal applicant experience
Skill development programs
Academic and career coaching
Job-specific training programs
External Leadership Advancement Programs
Work collaboratively with department managers and Talent Acquisition to implementing job-specific training programs that build pipelines for high volume and/or hard-to-fill roles.
Partners with program leaders to develop and implement processes and policies to transition graduates of our structured student training programs to employment at Dana-Farber.
Engages employee in their active development. Connects via email, phone or in-person on a regular basis to address individual barriers and obstacles to career advancement.
Delivers program curriculum and leverages current teaching methods and technologies.
Establish strategic partnerships to complement existing capabilities and ensure programs and services advance employees and meet organizational needs.
Manages the marketing and communication of internal/external programs and services that support career advancement.
Participates on committee projects and initiatives in support of Workforce Development and ID&E Initiatives.
Design, administer and ensure data collection, documentation and evaluation for all programs.
Contribute to Institute's commitment to City of Boston.
Bachelor's degree required in education, psychology, counseling, social work or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Formal training, education and/or certificate in career coaching and techniques development or teaching a plus.
5 years progressive experience in workforce development or related field with at least 5 years of management and/or supervisory responsibilities.
Mentorship, academic and career coaching, program development, curriculum design and adult training experience required.
Experience working in healthcare, academic, and/or complex matrixed environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
A proven track record of results in a complex environment where multi-tasking and excellent judgment and decision-making skills are required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking, negotiation, conflict management, and training.
Extensive knowledge of government and private funding agencies and grant making institutions.
Proven ability to develop and nurture close working relationships with a variety of people including community residents, community agency staff members, colleagues, faculty, and individuals in both the private and public sectors.
Experience with outcome measurement and program evaluation.
Familiarity with the Workforce Development policies and practices at the local, state, and federal levels.
Experience in working with diverse communities
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Very strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated skill in responding with timeliness and accuracy in complex and fast-paced environments and a commitment to high quality program delivery.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
Flexibility in scheduling needed: some weekend and evening meeting and events are required.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
