The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Lean Value Stream Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Being the key Royersford contact for a family of products within the Precision Grinding and Finishing Value Stream. This Value Stream serves the Abrasive Systems Division, manufacturing superabrasive grinding wheels and related materials.
Leading product improvement utilizing the LSS methodology towards improvements in unit cost reduction, PPU &, quality improvements - from RM to Customer with support from the process and quality teams. This includes leading supplier management as it relates to the quality of your products.
Leading the scaleup of New Product Introductions & Management of Change qualifications that will impact products in the facility. In this lead role, you will drive communication and risk evaluation, to execute on product improvements for our customers, while utilizing appropriate product change management processes.
Maintaining customer alignment and leadership around proactive quality improvements. This includes driving customer compliance and corrective action in alignment with plant and specific product quality management systems with the support of the Plant Quality Team. Through your division and customer connections, you will align and translate Voice of Customer into measurable specifications and test methods for product development and manufacturing
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) combined years of product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Demonstrated results driving projects/initiatives related to product Quality Improvement, Unit Cost Modeling, and Cost Reduction projects.
Technical experience in abrasives manufacturing.
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solving is preferred
Experience with CNC and manual machining work centers
Demonstrated results leading product specific improvements across multiple processes and teams
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
