The Impact You'll Make in this Role The person hired for this opportunity will be responsible for championing and supporting priority initiatives and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and standardization across USAC. This person will collaborate with Business Group and plant Ergonomics Coordinators, as well as Corporate Ergonomics staff to advocate for and ensure efficient and effective programs, tools, and training. They will also foster outside-in perspectives and technology transformation through benchmarking.

Strategic leadership of Area ergonomics program, actions and direction
Develop and lead Area-specific Ergonomics and ergonomic priorities and initiatives to support site execution
Develop a holistic prioritized view for capital spending to address ergonomic concerns
Review of assessment tool (EJA and ErgoPrime) results and compare to ergonomics illnesses to identify root causes and solutions
Increase integration with 3M Engineering, including Area responsibility for the Ergonomic Design Criteria understanding and use
Create partnership with other Area and Corporate Resources to share knowledge and best practices
Tactical support to Business and Site EHS teams to drive progress on risk reduction
Ensure completion of all site ergonomic task inventories
Strengthen the depth and frequency of targeted Ergonomic training to elevate the knowledge of site EHS staff regarding the 3M Ergo assessment methods
Conduct routine plant visits to review and elevate ergonomics performance (and provide hands-on assistance)
Drive better solutions across the 3M Area by creating exposure profile to identify common high exposures which are then linked to solutions
Increase integration with 3M Engineering, including Area responsibility for the Ergonomic Design Criteria (EDC) understanding and use
Create and manage the Area Ergonomics Program template and Standard Work
Lead the Ergonomics network across the Area to:
Develop standard work to continuously improve the broad area of Ergonomics
Provide input for the annual EHS planning cycle related to Ergonomics exposure reduction and ergonomics training activities
Provide input for the annual EHS planning cycle related to Ergonomics
Coordinate activities and improvement efforts for the Ergonomics elements of the EHS Management System
Benchmark via attendance of technical conferences, membership in key professional association/trade associations, along with benchmarking the activities of peer companies and/or strategic partners (Chemical, Pharma, Logistics, etc.)
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Ten (10) combined years of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Engineering, Consulting and/or Manufacturing/Production experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Five (5) years of Industrial Ergonomics experience
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master's degree in Ergonomics from an accredited institution
Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) designation, or the demonstrate the approval to sit for the certification exam (must have obtained approval from BCPE)
Ten (10) years' experience in Industrial Ergonomics
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
Experience and comfort in creating and providing multi-day ergonomics training in remote or hands-on workshop setting
Advanced data analytics skill set with abilities to illustrate and understand trends, and transition findings into actions
Experiencing in creating deliverables and implementing tactics to achieve project goals
Experience leading project teams across multiple sites and Business Groups
Experience in creating databases or systems in order to store assessment data
Knowledge of engineering project work and capital planning process
Experience leading project teams
Excellent communications skills (oral, written, and presentation)
Travel: May include up to 30% domestic/international (Canada, Juarez and Monterrey Mexico)
