Northwest Permanente, P.C. is currently seeking a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Board Certified or Board Eligible Physician to join our growing medical group in as the Medical Director for Hospice and Palliative Medicine Chief of Service. You will lead our 18-clinician team in Portland, Oregon. This team supports patients across the Kaiser Northwest region and has 4 arms to the department including outpatient clinic palliative care, home based palliative care, home hospice and inpatient consult service. Candidates should have excellent communication, collaboration, and primary care medical skills. Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship training preferred with at least 2 years' experience managing physicians are required to be considered for this important role. Additional responsibilities may include strategic operations and personnel management for physicians in all 4 arms of the department. This role will partner with care delivery leaders including the Lead Physician for Outpatient/ Inpatient services as well as the Hospice and Palliative Care Operations Manager. This entire leadership team is responsible for day-to-day operations of all four service lines.

Kaiser Northwest has its own hospice program, integrated Clinic-based Palliative Care and Home-based palliative care, as well as an Inpatient consultation service. The opportunities for Palliative Care clinicians are challenging and varied, and there is broad institutional support for our mission. We place a strong emphasis on a team-first, collaborative approach with an expectation that patient care will also entail up to 50% virtual care delivery. You will need to be flexible to support our robust Palliative Medicine program across our full range of patient needs.
