The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Consumer Insights Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by being a key contributor to the 3M Home, Auto, Build, Repair, and Safety consumer brands' Strategic Plans and will lead the creation of annual insights plans to directly support the brands' marketing plans. This person will also collaborate with other members of the Insights team within the Consumer Business Group both in St Paul and across the globe, as well as with other division partners in key functions such as Brand Marketing, Marketing Communications, New Products Marketing, Design, Sales, Shopper, Digital and Product Development.

Proactively be the " voice of the consumer " throughout the organization
Collaborate with key stakeholders on assessing business issues to develop, manage and execute customized learning plans for each brand
Consult, advise and influence local and global brand teams on insights methodologies, usage and interpretation
Strong knowledge of consumer insights using a broad array of current and new methodologies - quantitative and qualitative.
Ability to ruthlessly scope a project up front with the marketing team to ensure that the appropriate research is identified and prioritized for the objective, along with the correct consumer target for the project
Gather and synthesize data, while drawing and leveraging insights from new and historical sources.
Negotiate with vendors to drive optimized costs, and closely manage the budget.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Six (6) years of primary consumer research experience in Consumer Packaged Goods
Three (3) years of experience conducting research in conjunction with new product marketing launches
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
MBA or Master's degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Experience with consumer segmentation, brand architecture, positioning, and advertising research
Global Consumer Insights experience is desired
Prior experience in Shopper Insights
Travel: May include up to 10% travel
Relocation Assistance: Not authorized, can work remotely
Part Time: This role is 0.5 FTE (20 hours/week)
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
