A successful candidate will maintain a strong focus on project management support for on-going key initiatives, conducting early-stage supplier research and development, sourcing, product development and supplier management for select sub-categories. The candidate will support the Global Sourcing Product Development Managers and collaborate with other key stakeholders including McKesson Brands, Materials Management, China Sourcing, and QA.
Provide project management support for key global sourcing initiatives including but not limited to: Supplier of Choice program development and on-going communications, Supplier Relationship Management, Supplier Score-carding, SFDC implementation / maintenance, OPAL administration, etc
Lead sourcing, product development for a subset of categories / products, manage supplier and internal customer relationships for responsible categories
Utilize existing sources (primary and secondary) to conduct research and initial screening for prospective suppliers supporting diversification and risk mitigation initiatives
Maintain and enhance supplier score carding process ensuring value to key stakeholders
Support global sourcing product development managers team with portfolio maintenance (item setups, discontinuations, etc)
Minimum Job Qualifications:
4-year degree in Marketing, Supply Chain, Business Administration or Finance or equivalent experience
2+ years of professional experience in Product Development, Category Management, Product Management, Sourcing or Supply Chain is preferred.
Ability to effectively interact with a broad range of cross functional groups including Private Label, Category Management, Finance, Pricing/Analytics, QA and Materials Management
Some category management / sourcing experience
Past supplier partnership experience, including professional and persuasive interactions with suppliers in a negotiation setting
Some product knowledge of medical-surgical portfolio
Strong project management, communication, presentation and analytical skills required
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and overseas sourcing a plus
Market intelligence of suppliers and competitors in our channel
Experience demonstrated financial and business acumen
~10-15% including international/overseas travel
