The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Public Market Business Development Account Leader, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Analyzing current and future client needs and to be knowledgeable about competitor solutions to be able to develop and execute appropriate short-, mid- and long-term strategic opportunities offering 3M solutions.
Building and maintaining strong, lasting client relationships and future growth of current and forecasted federal program management activities. Includes advice on and preparation of tactical and strategic business opportunity plans.
Providing product and service level advice, analysis, and recommendations for new initiatives to support organic growth from existing projects within current government (e.g., DoD, VA, CMS, IHS) customers.
Discerning the business of healthcare and how coded data translates to patient service revenue, quality indicators, patient safety scores, and more.
Utilizing established relationships to act as an advocate for 3M products and solutions.
Establishing and continuing to build an extensive internal network (sales, marketing, technical, manufacturing, and engineering) to facilitate completion of programs, and increased external customer satisfaction.
Communicating, presenting, and influencing key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level such as Department of Defense, Service Surgeon General Staff, Defense Health Agency (DHA), Veteran Health Administration (VHA), other federal agencies, and business partners.
Translating customer insights and articulated needs into 3M solutions.
Taking the lead on contract negotiations for client solutions. This includes validating the client requirements need and collaborating with business owners to ensure client satisfaction.
Actively participating in relevant corporate programs/initiatives and compliance with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M's values and ethical standards.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) and fourteen (14) years of experience
Ten (10) years of federal government health care environments, to include DoD and VA
Five (5) years of working knowledge of DoD/VA EHR and 3M software products
Must be able to pass a Government background check for a position of Public Trust
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master's degree in a Business field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Change Management experience, including ability to lead change effectively.
Experience with developing and execute appropriate short-, mid- and long-term strategic opportunities offering 3M solutions.
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA/RHIT) or accomplish within 18 months of hire.
Combined experience in sourcing, government contracts, defense contracts, federal regulations, and/or supplier/vendor management in a private, public, government or military environment
Expert knowledge of strategic sourcing methodology, procurement processes, and systems.
Experience leading contract negotiations.
Experience with briefing executive level personnel, compiling briefings and status reports.
Awareness of 3M's business areas, structure, and organization, as well as of the external market (competitors, trends, etc)
Travel: May include up to 40%
