The Impact You'll Make in this Role
The Manufacturing Technology Engineer will be responsible for leading process/product improvement projects and completing process development projects in support of new product introductions for the Oral Care business.
As a Manufacturing Technology Engineer , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Providing manufacturing leadership on cross-functional New Product Introduction (NPI) teams.
Planning and executing design transfer & technology transfer for new products and processes to the manufacturing floor, safely, on-time, and within budget.
Identifying and implementing disruptive manufacturing technologies to improve product cost, service, and quality.
Completing formal process validation studies and documenting work according to established procedures for medical device manufacturing
Gathering process related input through experimentation and prototyping for the design of new process equipment.
Developing and communicating capital project proposals for new processing technology and cost reduction opportunities.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of manufacturing technology engineering, process engineering, product engineering, and/or product development in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or material Science and Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum five years of automation, laser processing, robotics, and plastic molding experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Experience working in a medical device or regulated business utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to solve complex problems.
Experience leading cross functional teams.
Experience presenting complex technical topics to management. Strong written and oral communications skills.
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
