The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Senior Technical Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Supervising and directing a team of manufacturing engineers
Ensuring that engineering deliverables are aligned with the goals and timelines of the plant
Commissioning, qualifying, and supporting manufacturing processes
Developing the technical abilities of the operational manufacturing engineering team
Fostering an environment of continuous improvement by leveraging Lean Six Sigma
Collaborating with cross functional partners such as production, quality, plant engineering and resident engineering, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
Leading and continually developing self and others at multiple levels of the organization through supervision, providing recognition, policy administration, continuous coaching for improvement and participation in hiring processes.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Five (5) combined years of engineering and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Experience leading and coaching Six Sigma Green Belt projects and/or improvement projects (kaizens).
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Experience supervising manufacturing engineers in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Experience with 3M converting and automation technology and processes
Ability to effectively use statistics in analyzing process data
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
