The Location: New York City
The Specialist, Business Management role is focused on combining a passion for data and presentation with excellent communication skills - backed by a can-do attitude, deep understanding of the facts, and the courage to convey them with conviction. This role will play a key, central role in collecting data from internal systems, synthesizing it to produce the desired views, and ensuring the key outputs are distributed to the people that need them on the desired regular frequency. This will enable teams to make intelligent business decisions and have visibility into progress on business priorities.
This role will require a combination of data and excel skills, understanding of how to manipulate data to build business intelligence, and discipline to operationalize the regular reporting requirements. This role will directly report to and support the Global Head of Business Management for the Analytic Practices, but will also support the broader Business Management team, as needed, with ad hoc requests for data and/or assistance with solving problems with Excel or Powerpoint. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to work with employees at all levels will be key success factors for this role. This role is viewed as an excellent entry point into Business Management, with the hope that a successful candidate will grow into larger roles in the team as opportunities become available.
An effective Business Manager will be flexible and able to quickly adapt to new tasks and priorities with the ability to juggle project deliverables with day-to-day accountabilities. The role brings additional value through a strong understanding of the whole business, an effective network of relationships and an appreciation of the cross-functional implications of decisions and actions. A continuous improvement mind-set coupled with role-modeling Lean behaviors will enable the Business Manager to drive a continuous improvement culture across practices and functions and sustain an accelerated pace of execution.
Provide daily support for metrics, pulling data from business systems, creating reports, and populating the information where people can use it
Prepares presentations using Powerpoint, utilizing data to enable effective story telling
Assists with design and implementation of OKRs, KPIs and metrics to achieve business plan objectives and successfully run the business
Support and when needed participate in strategic capacity conversations; update based on feedback
Ensures reports are representative of reality, explaining assumptions where needed
Solves complex, non-routine problems encountered in data using judgment
Partners with internal customers
Develops detailed understanding of Ratings data and data meaning and helps teams understand how to use data provided; participates in huddle to drive this understanding where needed
Provides fact-based interpretation and analysis of findings and knowledge-based recommendations to senior management
Applies broad knowledge of operations principles and theories developed through past experience to make recommendations for process improvements

2+ years in Industry: Financial Services or related
2+ years of data synthesizing experience
BA/BS in related field
Exposure to different parts of the organization in a variety of roles preferable
PMP or Black Belt Certification preferred

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $46,200 to $105,400. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
