About the Role:
The Sales Director will be a member of the high growth Corporates sales team within S&P Global's Market Intelligence division, which includes technology, government, energy, and professional services. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of companies who lead, innovate, and disrupt their respective industries. One day you may be talking to an emerging Technology startup that is mapping a growth strategy. The next day you may help a global Fortune 500 Corporation identify new acquisitions or solve complex Risk and Supply Chain challenges. As a Sales Director, you are a critical part of our team. This role will specifically sell into existing accounts and as such requires a high collaboration, boldness, creativity, resiliency, charisma, a competitive spirit, and exceptional communication & presentation skills.

We have product specialists and commercial leaders who are eager to help navigate each unique sale with one shared end goal. Here are some of the core responsibilities of the role:
Demonstrate mastery of S&P product suite to design a solution that solves customer's data related challenge(s)
Develop and execute on book/target strategy
Execute outbound sales strategies through collaboration with Account Managers, Prospectors, Cadence Managers and Team Leads.
Be entrepreneurial -- stay current with industry news to develop initiatives and attract prospects
3-5+ years of experience in business development with a focus on solution selling
Experience with consultative sells within the Saas Space
Strong negotiation skills to close complex deals
Willingness to approach every problem as an entrepreneur with grit, creativity, and persistence
Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Salesforce
5-8 years of relevant industry experience and a consistent record in consultative sales.
Strong communication, organization, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Must have experience holding a new business sales quota.
Resilient and ability to navigate past roadblocks.
Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work well in teams.
Goal and action orientated, with ability to work towards revenue targets within a business development environment.
Solid organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or related subjects, CFA, MBA will be a plus.
Experience selling into the Corporate customer segment, focusing on Corporate Development, Corporate Treasury, Investor Relations and Mergers & Acquisitions departments.
Background in selling data analytical software platforms.
Strong knowledge of Capital IQ and Capital IQ Pro.

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $60k to $100k. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
