The Team: Sustainable1 is S&P Global's centralized source for sustainability intelligence. You will be part of a small, growing team of Go-to-Market strategists within the commercial organization. This position reports to the Global Head of ESG Capital Markets Commercial Strategy. Your role is help ensure the successful commercial rollout of S&P Global's ESG products and services for capital market clients by undertaking regular competitive landscaping analysis, providing analytical support, and supporting research requests for thought leadership content and client-facing materials.

Specific focus of the role:
As a key member of the ESG GTM Strategy team, you will play a key role in driving the successful commercial rollout of S&P Global's ESG products and services across its divisions.
This includes analyzing market trends on ESG products and services (e.g. in terms of AUM, product revenues, etc.), identifying areas of white space for ESG product innovation, and performing due diligence assessments on competitive products and services - with a particular focus on market positioning, customer pain points, and client use cases. Based on this research, you will build analytical content (e.g. charts, tables, infographics, etc.) for client-facing materials (research papers, blogs, brochures, presentation slides, website content, etc.) and support the development of positioning pillars for S&P Global's ESG products and services for more targeted client conversations. As a member of the ESG GTM Commercial Strategy Team for Capital Markets, your primary focus will be on financial institutions in the asset owner and asset manager space, as well as retail firms focused on private wealth management. In addition, the ecosystem of industry influencers such as investment consultants, stock exchanges, standard-setters, and regulatory bodies, will also be relevant market segments to address.
Keep abreast of evolving ESG market and commercial trends, third-party research, sustainable finance regulations, standards, and frameworks through regular market landscaping analysis.
Perform due diligence on competitive products and services in the market by mapping areas of alignment, identifying white spaces, and assessing usage statistics, methodology comparisons, differences in product positioning, customer pain points, and client use cases.
Keep up to date on our evolving ESG product suite and occasionally engage with strategic capital markets clients as a senior representative of S&P Global S1.
Represent S&P Global as a speaker/panelist at external events.
Contribute to cross-divisional initiatives and working groups to help coordinate enhanced collaboration among ESG product leads across S&P Global Divisions.
Analyze large quantities of data and produce analytical/visual content for internal memos and client-facing materials to summarize key findings and bring the commercial GTM strategy to life.
Regularly review externally-facing materials across the divisions to ensure they are up to date and reflect established narratives for the S&P Global ESG business - including methodology documents, FAQ documents, website content, and thought leadership pieces.
Build and maintain marketing collateral based on targeted product positioning for client personas on a regular basis - including presentation slides, brochures, blogs, and white papers.
Help support an internal program of education by developing a resource hub for S&P Global's ESG products and services, maintaining sales training and guidance, and coordinating a calendar of internal meetings and training sessions with relevant experts and commercial teams.
Work closely with the S&P Global ESG Marketing Team to coordinate promotional activities around new product launches - including roadshows, webinars, and in-person events to maximize our presence and influence in the market.
Help coordinate and support the day-to-day activities of the Global Head of ESG Capital Markets Commercial Strategy by documenting meetings and assisting with ad-hoc requests as needed.
Support strategic initiatives for other Senior Commercial Leadership Teams as needed.
What we're looking for
Minimum 5+ years of working experience.
Experience in an ESG role working with financial institutions.
Excellent technical and analytical skills, with experience in working with large datasets and summarizing complex information into simple, easy-to-understand content.
Understanding of the global ESG landscape and the sustainable finance industry, including key drivers and trends that are shaping the marketplace for related products and services.
Knowledge of ESG data and its relevance to various use cases and stakeholders.
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write compelling thought leadership pieces, research summaries and talking points documents.
Excellent verbal communication skills, comfortable speaking in public and in client meetings.
Highly organized and capable of working on many different projects at a time in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while working to tight deadlines.
Self-motivated and results oriented, with a positive, "can do" attitude.
A sharp intellect, commercial and strategic acumen, and a creative approach to problem solving in an innovative industry and an entrepreneurial attitude are important.
Experience working on GTM strategies, product marketing, and landscaping research.
Experience in leading client pitches and engaging externally with clients.
Data visualization skills, with fluency in Python, R, C#, or other programing languages a plus.
Understanding of how financial markets operate, and how financial institutions evaluate and incorporate ESG and climate issues in their decision-making, as well as the organizations involved (e.g. TCFD, SASB, UN PRI, etc.).
Understanding of emerging and evolving ESG-related regulations in the United States (e.g. SEC disclosure) and to some extent also the European Union (e.g. SFDR, Taxonomy).
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,600 to $230,200. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
