The Impact You'll Make in this Role The Manufacturing Engineer will provide manufacturing Product Engineering and NPI project support for Highway Safety and Pavement Markings products in the Transportation Electronics Business Group (TEBG)
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Optimizing product constructions, raw materials, and manufacturing processes to deliver product/process improvements, unit cost reductions, and /or quality improvements
Provide manufacturing input on technology advancements, capability assessments and cost estimates of new opportunities
Coordinate experiments and analyze data relating to product performance
Participate on New Product Introduction (NPI) development programs and play a key role with product launches into manufacturing
Leading disruptive technology projects within assigned product group
Utilize Six Sigma methodology to deliver results
Other duties as assigned
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of Process and/or Manufacturing Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Previous experience with extruding, coating, printing and/or converting operations
Master's degree or higher from an accredited university
Experience in leading multi-functional teams through complex projects from planning to completion
Experience in supporting new product development and commercialization
Experience in developing and managing capital budgets and project completion within time and cost projections
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Location: Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 15% Domestic/International
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
