The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Technical Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace through active and visible leadership
Implementing and ensuring use of Lean Management Systems and Six Sigma to drive continual improvements in safety, employee engagement, productivity, and quality
Collaborating with cross functional partners such as engineering, quality, production planning and plant engineering, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
Leading and continually developing self and others at multiple levels of the organization through supervision, providing recognition, policy administration, continuous coaching for improvement and participation in hiring processes
Representing plant leadership team through driving initiatives across the plant, including but not limited to supervision coverage for alternative shifts, being on-call and serving as a primary plant management representative
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing others and ability to influence higher levels of the organization
Experience leading and coaching improvement projects (kaizens) and Six Sigma Green Belt projects, and have Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a technical discipline (Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relative discipline) from an accredited institution
Ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Three (3) years previous supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
