The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Wastewater Treatment/Utility Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace through active and visible leadership, employing the latest technology related to water quality, energy management, and environmental stewardship.
Implementing and ensuring robust and reliable plant utility operations via exploring the latest strategies and technologies for redundancy and reliability.
Collaborating with cross functional partners such as engineering, quality, production planning and plant engineering, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
Providing process engineering leadership and oversight via monitoring process data trends and key process indicators, engaging colleagues to create and maintain Operating and Maintenance Procedures, training modules, audits, etc. to ensure World Class Operations, regulatory compliance, and an environment of stewardship, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to the start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years of engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry
Three (3) years of combined experience in wastewater treatment and/or water treatment processes
Experience in environmental compliance reporting
Experience in environmental permitting and project management
Previous environmental experience in industrial or manufacturing setting is highly desirable
Experience with Alabama and Federal regulations (NPDES)
Expertise in NPDES permit compliance and State and Federal water quality regulations
Strong communication skills, and ability to work effectively in teams
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
