The Role Senior Analyst, Business Operations Management (ESG)

The Team
You will be part of the Business Operations Management team which is responsible for overseeing business operations of several product management teams.
The Impact
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the ESG product management team. This will involve ensuring that a variety of short-, medium- and long-term projects that fall under the product managers' purview, which include index development and launches, technology initiatives, as well as others, progress smoothly and efficiently. You will also become a subject matter expert in ESG investing.

Responsibilities
- Manage the index life cycle (conceptualization and launch through decommission and in between)
- Act as primary liaison between R&D, product management, index management, and Governance teams (including but not limited to attending and presenting at committee meetings, proactive communication to advance projects, etc.)
- Effectively track overall project management (both index launch and otherwise)
- Organize and set team priorities with input from product management team
- Display a good level of subject matter expertise in ESG investing, especially from an index perspective
- Lead technology initiatives from the product management perspective
- Maintain quarterly reporting out to management with assets under management, revenue, team KPIS, and other figures
- Coordinate creation of outward facing materials
- Participate in client facing events as required (primarily if a technical perspective is required)
- Build and maintain key relationships with other groups within the department and across other departments, particularly other Product Management teams, Client Coverage, Marketing, and Channel Management
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong understanding of global financial markets, indexing, and ESG data
- Good track record of delivering multiple projects independently
- First class project management and communication skills - written, verbal and presenting
- Fluency in English
- Experience with project management software and related applications
- Able to demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities to solve original, non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner
- Advanced MS Office suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (or equivalent qualification) in business, math, economics, or finance
- Ability to assume responsibility, collaborate easily with others and manage projects
- The ability to coordinate work done by multiple people and / or groups
- Relevant experience in finance, project management, or a similar role
- Strong understanding of how indices are used and the impact of different methodologies and data sets on both indices and financial portfolios
- Ability to learn S&P's proprietary workflows index calculation engines
- Knowledge of vendor terminals and vendors data and analytical platforms
