The Team: Our Ratings Finance Global Financial Planning & Analysis Team supports and provides information, insights, and decision support to internal business partners to optimize financial performance and decision making.
The Impact: This position provides essential support to the Ratings FP&A team across a wide spectrum of equally challenging and rewarding deliverables, while adding significant value to the business reporting. In addition, to the monthly/quarterly close and reporting processes, the team member will also be involved in the business partnering with key business stakeholders and play an integral role in supporting high visibility projects. The position will have responsibility for supporting the development of the annual operating budget and will work closely with various business partners to track and manage the expenses.
Supporting the Global FP&A team in providing effective finance decision support for S&P Ratings functional groups, including regular interaction with cross-divisional and Corporate Finance teams
Perform an integral role in the continued build out of financial reporting dashboards and packages to provide transparency into financial performance and aid critical decision making
Support the analysis of monthly expense and headcount, as part of the monthly rolling estimate and annual budget process.
Review and approve hiring and vendor spend requests while working closely with the business to manage and analyze spend.
Work closely with the business to assist with the preparation of financial models and business cases to support business priorities
Support the Global FP&A team's continuous process improvement mantra with the goal of increasing efficiency and optimizing the distribution of work through automation, leveraging of centers of excellence and other solutions.
Work together with a global team in an environment that promotes development and growth
Assist on enterprise-wide projects or initiatives as assigned.
Perform ad-hoc requests and special projects as assigned.
Solid experience in the monthly-close process including the ability to provide insightful commentary.
Experience of building presentations of financial analysis in PowerPoint.
Experience of implementing change within financial reporting including digitization.
Experience of process improvement by adopting LEAN principles, employing best practices, and leveraging technology.
Experience of taking a lead role in projects.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; Proficiency/knowledge in Alteryx, Tableau, PowerPoint, QlikView, and Anaplan, or other database tools a plus.
Interpersonal Skills: Requires a highly developed communications skills and ability to negotiate internally and often at higher levels. External communications may be a need but not a primary focus
Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance. MBA &/or CPA with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' work experience in Financial Analysis, Operations, and/or Accounting in a large, complex organization.
Strong attention to detail and analytical ability with an inquisitive mind.
Ability to work independently and as a fully contributing member of a team.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Experienced in dashboard design (E.g., Tableau) and focused, thoughtful visual display of quantitative information
MBA, Master's Degree in Finance and/or CPA with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP is preferred.
Experience with Anaplan, Alteryx, Oracle Cloud/Smartview.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $74,400 to $154,400. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
