DevOps Cloud Engineer

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

3M is seeking an intermediate DevOps Cloud Engineer for the Hosted Platform Services (HPS) team. Hosted Platform Services is a DevOps team that maintains and automates multiple 3M/MModal hosted solutions including log aggregation, monitoring, deployment, clinical documentation platforms and ADFS SSO. The successful candidate will be excited about technology and make an impact by supporting technology that powers hospitals and doctors, while improving patient care (speech recognition, natural language understanding, medical billing, transcription, etc). Front End skills are also highlighted in this role (React, Angular).

As a DevOps Cloud Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Manage and Implement CI/CD Pipelines, Cloud Formation Scripts and Automation in AWS
• Develop and Enhance Front End Web Interfaces while working within a Dev-Ops Team.
• Deploy and Maintain Production Environments with Enterprise 3M HealthCare Technology Products in Multiple AWS Accounts and Regions.
• Run and Attend Project Meetings to Achieve goals in a collaborative team
• Available for emergency after hour escalations

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university

-OR-

• High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the software industry

• Two (2) years of experience working with Amazon Web Services while utilizing various services example; EC2, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), S3 Bucket, Route53, CloudWatch, EBS, EFS, AMI, IAM, MFA, ELB, Lambda, Auto-scaling, Security Groups
• Two (2) combined years of experience with the Windows Server and/or Linux Server Operating Systems
• One (1) year combined experience in troubleshooting APIs errors, web connectivity, database connections, stored procedures, and/or software code
• Two (2) years programming experience in one or more of the following technologies: Python, C#, C++, ASP, PHP, Visual Basic, VB Script, JavaScript, Node.js, XML, XSL, YAML, JSON (course work and internship work accepted)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• One or more active Associate or Professional level AWS Certifications
• Two (2) years of experience developing front end code with React or Angular with REST APIs or similar
• Able to deploy CI/CD pipelines while utilizing GIT repositories or AWS Cloud Formation Templates
• Able to develop Ansible Playbooks or Puppet Modules for automated deployments.
• Able to work independently, in a multi-team environment and under direct management as the situation requires
• Production Experience with Docker, ECS, EKS/Kubernetes and Lambda
• Three (3) years of experience in analyzing system wide trends and identify issues that are recurring at a frequent rate
• Three (3) years of experience in verbal and written customer focused communications
• Experienced in maintaining web-based applications and associated peripheral systems
• One (1) year of experience utilizing and administering Splunk or ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
• Ability to direct and influence others

Travel : Occasional travel may be required

Location : Pittsburgh, PA or REMOTE USA
