The Impact You'll Make in this Role As an Advanced Hardgoods Regulatory Engineer , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Collaborating with product development teams across 3M businesses to identify potential hazards associated with the use of 3M products that incorporate electrical, electronic, mechanical, or other energy functions and are typically durable.
Assessing the risks associated with product hazards by utilizing established processes and databases. The risk assessment provides 3M businesses with written safety instructions to be included in product manuals and product labels to ensure compliance and promote the safety of users.
Documenting and capturing information from multiple internal stakeholders to drive efficiencies with process.
Participating in global New Product Introduction and Product Change Management by partnering with international team members that support risk assessment.
Enhancing and advancing the services of 3M's Hardgoods Regulatory Engineering (HRE) Team.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Product Stewardship, Regulatory Affairs, Risk Assessment, Life Cycle Assessment, or Electronics Product Compliance in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Advanced degree in an applicable Science or Engineering discipline, especially electrical or mechanical engineering
Combined experience with Product Stewardship, Regulatory Affairs, Risk Assessment, Life Cycle Assessment, and/or Electronics Product Compliance in a private, public, government or military environment
Project management certification or experience
Familiarity with the Enovia Product Lifecycle Management software
Leadership experience on global projects
Travel: May include up to10% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Location: Maplewood, MN preferred, but open to remote based work
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
