The Role
We are recruiting a Wealth Management Channel team member for German speaking Europe at S&P Dow Jones Indices (SPDJI). The role is tasked with building and maintaining relationships with our clients' distribution teams and wealth management intermediaries through programs designed to increase the awareness and adoption of index-based solutions. You will help develop a strategy to improve the competitive positioning and distribution support of S&P DJI Indices Cross Asset class including US 'Core', Factors, Themes, multi asset class and, particularly, Environmental Social and Governance strategies (ESG).
The Impact
The successful applicant will work with colleagues across our product, research, and the commercial organization as well as peers in our sister companies within S&P Global to develop and execute strategies that ensure clients achieve success in launching new products and gathering assets for existing ones linked to SPDJI indices. You will also lead the end-user experience, so we become an indispensable partner to our clients. This is a highly collaborative role and you will partner with and influence all functions across SPDJI. You will own distribution support and outreach within the territory to wealth management related client segment. As an ambassador for S&P DJI you would cultivate a high-performance culture of client-centrism, disciplined execution, collaboration, innovation, and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Build a strategic business plan that applies appropriate best practices from the North American and UK Wealth Management Channel 'playbook' but incorporates new ideas to provide the most efficient approach to achieve success in the local market
- Collaborate with account-based client coverage, product-oriented product managers and sales specialists to penetrate and grow index revenues
- Work closely with marketing partners to create, or influence the creation, of content and education which informs and influences advisor adoption of index-based solutions. Serve as a subject matter expert in the wealth intermediary segment, with specialty expertise in the insurance industry
- Leverage product, market, and technical expertise to build and maintain credibility with clients, identify gaps, and recommend solutions; and deliver on revenue-generating goals
- Apply an understanding of how our clients' distribution teams are rewarded to effectively work with them, increase SPDJI mindshare with them and establish lasting and valuable relationships of mutual benefit
- Identifies themes and ideas trending in financial advisor investment practice or regulation and communicate them verbally and in written reports to internal stakeholders and leaders periodically to increase our knowledge and our product positioning capabilities.
- Track and report key metrics that illustrate progress in developing partnerships and improving distribution and acceptance of index investing
- Develop deep expertise with S&P DJI's products as well as continually educate oneself and internal stakeholders (Commercial and Product) to maintain strong product knowledge of the SPDJI indices, their integration points with other S&P DJI products, and competitors
- Influence increased alignment in new and existing product priorities between S&P DJI and clients
Skills and Experience Required
- Successful track record in a relationship management and/or revenue generation role
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or CFA degree preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: No licenses required; preference to candidates with CFA, CFP, CIMA or similar certifications
- Travel: up to 30%
- Ability to effectively work from home and deliver advisor education via technology platforms such as Zoom, Teams, On24 webinars, email, and phone calls
- A passion for indexing and the positive impact it has on our industry and communities
- Extensive industry knowledge about impactful trends and future direction of the core index, asset, wealth, and capital market industries particularly in the 34f (Finanzanlagenvermittler) and 34h (Honorar-Finanzanlagenberater) and retail banking segment
- Existing relationships and contacts in the client segment a strong advantage
- Ability to stay on top of evolving industry trends, special emphasis on Insurance and Multi-Asset Index market trends, with desire to continually learn and add new technical and selling skills
- Ability to effectively operate in a highly team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Strong presentation, strategic thinking and interpersonal skills
- First class communication skills - written, verbal and presenting
- Fluency in English and German
