The Impact You'll Make in this Role
This Quality Technician* role will support the Automotive and Aerospace Division (AASD), Film and Materials Resources Division (FMRD), and the Advanced Materials Division (AdMD). Daily support
activities will include testing, inspection, troubleshooting, product containment, receiving RM's and documentation updates.
This role works up to 12 hour shifts and overtime, which could be during the week or on weekends.
As a Quality Technician* you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Conducting inspection and testing of AASD products, FMRD films and AdMD glass bubbles products.

Inspecting and dispositioning incoming raw materials.

Completing special requests from engineers, group leaders and/or supervisor. Participating
as a team member on problem solving teams. Performing other duties as assigned.

Quality Control Technicians are responsible for releasing acceptable product and containing
unacceptable or potentially non-conforming product.

Supporting Business Transformation quality module support activities.
-
PLM documentation editing and issuing.
-
Participation in daily Tier review meetings.
-
Some analysis using MS Excel may be required.

Dependable attendance and adherence to work schedules is required. Overtime coverage
for vacation and other absences is an expected part of the job responsibility.

Adhere to the Environmental Management System policies and procedures in performance
of the job.

Work is defined both by written procedures and division and plant quality manuals. Individual
judgment is involved in scheduling work to complete objectives in timely fashion, and
business environment may alter priorities of the job.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
-
High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
-
One (1) year quality control experience within a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
-
Associates/two (2) year technical degree or higher from an accredited institution
-
ASQ Certification as a Quality Technician or satisfactory progress toward certification is preferred
-
Strong math, science and computer skills
-
Manufacturing experience
-
Ability to communicate appropriate information in timely fashion to optimize business performance
-
Decision-making skills to disposition product, evaluate test results, alter test frequency and prioritize tasks to complete necessary work in timely fashion
Travel: Is not anticipated
Relocation Assistance: may be authorized
