The Social Media Manager implements social media strategy, seasonal and special campaigns, and the day-to-day management of the SM presence for all D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) and the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA) platforms. This position will align content efforts under the communications strategy for OVMA and IVMF. The manager also coordinates with the University social media team. In addition, the manager maintains both departments¿ implementation of social media governance, creating and maintaining a social media plan and content calendar.This includes providing counsel to ROTC and SVO. The Manager is also responsible for sourcing relevant content including after hours and weekends as needed, and attendance at University events and national conferences, amplifying messages and industry news through research. Responsibilities also include monitoring and responding to sensitive or controversial content and flagging to leaders. This may also include crafting response plans.
The manager will have experience with managing social media accounts; a keen sense of judgement, discretion, and customer service; excellent writing and editing skills; creating digital content (include photos and videos); and knowledge of social media analytics/reporting.
